Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming policing worldwide, but without proper regulation, it risks creating a surveillance state. In a major ruling, the Supreme Court has issued guidelines to regulate AI in law enforcement, ensuring it is used ethically.
The case was brought forward after reports emerged of AI-powered facial recognition being misused to profile individuals without clear legal oversight. Petitioners argued that AI-driven policing could lead to mass surveillance, wrongful arrests, and privacy violations.
