Historically, the insurance market in Turkmenistan was monopolized by the State Insurance Organization of Turkmenistan, established in 199. However, in December 2013, the Turkmen Parliament adopted a law initiating the demonopolization and privatization of state property, including the insurance secto. This reform allowed private capital to enter the insurance market, fostering competition and diversity in insurance offerings

*Compulsory Insurance for Transport Passengers and Crew (2020): A resolution was signed to implement mandatory state individual insurance for passengers and crew members across all modes of transport, including air, sea, river, road, and rail. The Ministry of Finance and Economy, in coordination with the State Insurance Organization, was tasked with establishing procedures for creating and utilizing insurance funds for this purpose 

*Environmental Insurance (2013): Starting March 1, 2013, mandatory environmental insurance was introduced for all institutions, enterprises, and organizations engaged in environmentally hazardous activities, excluding government-financed entities. This measure aimed to promote financial preparedness for environmental protection and accident prevention

*Insurance Premium Determination (2019): In April 2019, a regulation was approved to determine insurance premiums based on the severity of damage in insurance cases. This replaced previous regulations and aimed to standardize compensation calculations in line with the Law on Insurance 

*Compulsory Insurance for Workers in Hazardous Operations (2019): A provision was approved in June 2019 to implement compulsory state insurance for workers engaged in hazardous operations, ensuring their protection in high-risk environments
