📘 Section 399 – Inspection, production, and evidence of documents kept by Registrar
Sub-section (1): Right to inspect
Any person can:
Inspect documents filed with the Registrar under the Companies Act, 2013 (like MOA, AOA, annual returns, etc.), subject to prescribed conditions and payment of fees.
Sub-section (2): Certified copies
The Registrar shall, upon request and payment of prescribed fees:
Provide certified copies or extracts of any document kept by him.
These certified copies are admissible in evidence in any legal proceeding without further proof, being regarded as equivalent to the original.
Sub-section (3): Electronic form
Where a document is filed in electronic form, a copy or extract certified by the Registrar in writing and affixed with his official seal is admissible as evidence.
