Section 256 of the Indian Contract Act, 1872 pertains to the termination of agency by revocation or renunciation.

🔹 Section 256 – Revocation of agency

"An agency is revoked by the principal, or renounced by the agent."

✅ Explanation:

Agency can be ended by:

The principal revoking (canceling) the agent’s authority.

The agent renouncing (giving up) the agency.

Such revocation or renunciation puts an end to the agent’s authority to act on behalf of the principal.

📌 Example:

If A revokes B’s authority or B decides to quit, the agency is terminated.
