Title: Duties of Officers to Assist the Inspector

Overview:

Section 225 outlines the obligation of officers and employees of a company under investigation to assist the inspector appointed under the Act.

🔍 Key Provisions:

When an inspector is appointed under Section 210 (Investigation into Affairs of Company) or related provisions:

Every officer, employee, and former officer or employee of the company must:

Preserve and produce all books and papers relevant to the investigation,

Assist the inspector in conducting the investigation, and

Furnish all information and explanations as the inspector may require.

⚠️ Failure to Comply:

If any such person:

Fails to preserve or produce documents,

Fails to furnish information, or

Does not offer reasonable assistance,

they are liable for punishment under the Companies Act, which may include fine or imprisonment, as provided under related penal sections.
