In July 2023, Gabon enacted Law No. 027/2023, which regulates cybersecurity and the fight against cybercrime, This legislation addresses various aspects of digital security, including

Gabon’s data protection regime is primarily governed by Law No. 001/2011, which establishes the legal framework for the protection of personal dat. In July 2023, this law was amended by Law No. 025/2023 to address emerging challenges in data protection, including:

Despite these advancements, Gabon faces challenges related to the implementation and enforcement of its cyber laws, There have been instances of internet shutdowns during elections and protests, raising concerns about freedom of expression and access to information.
