Artificial Intelligence law at Oman

As of May 2025, Oman is actively developing a comprehensive legal and regulatory framework for artificial intelligence (AI), aligning with its Vision 2040 objectives and regional initiatives.

Oman's Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology (MTCIT) has initiated the National Program for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Advanced Digital Technologies, approved by the Council of Ministers in September 2024. This program focuses on three key pillars: promoting AI adoption, localizing AI technologies, and establishing a human-centered governance framework.
