Juvenile Act (Revised Statutes of Anguilla, Chapter J20): This act establishes the framework for juvenile courts and procedures, including provisions for excluding the public from hearings to protect the privacy of minors. 

Juvenile Courts Act (Revised Statutes of Anguilla, Chapter J25): This act outlines the establishment and operation of juvenile courts, ensuring that cases involving minors are handled appropriately. 

Child Justice Act: Passed in April 2021, this act raises the age of criminal responsibility to 14 and introduces diversion programs to prevent unnecessary criminalization of children. It also provides for alternative sentencing options and utilizes departments like Probation and Social Development to support children in conflict with the law. 

👶 Age of Criminal Responsibility

The minimum age of criminal responsibility in Anguilla is 10 years. However, children aged 10 to 14 may not be held criminally responsible unless they have the capacity to understand that their actions were wrong. Children under 10 are considered incapable of committing a criminal offense
