IPC Section 510 – Misconduct in public by a drunken person
Purpose
This section deals with situations where a person, under the influence of alcohol, behaves in a disorderly or indecent manner in a public place, thereby disturbing peace and public order.
Provision
If a person, being intoxicated (drunk),
Appears in a public place, or in any place where his conduct may cause annoyance to others,
And he misbehaves or misconducts himself,
👉 Then, such a person shall be punished with simple imprisonment up to 24 hours, or with a fine up to ₹10, or with both.
