Whoever fraudulently or dishonestly uses as genuine any document or electronic record which he knows or has reason to believe to be a forged document or electronic record, shall be punished in the same way as if he had forged such document or electronic record.
Explanation:
This section deals with the use of forged documents or electronic records.
The person must know or have reason to believe that the document or record is forged.
Even if the person did not create the forgery, simply using or presenting it as genuine is a punishable offense.
The punishment is the same as for forgery (covered under Section 463 and following).
