IPC Section 339

IPC Section 339 deals with Wrongful restraint.

Here’s the text of Section 339 of the Indian Penal Code:

339. Wrongful restraint.
Whoever voluntarily obstructs any person so as to prevent that person from proceeding in any direction in which that person has a right to proceed, is said to wrongfully restrain that person.

Summary:

If someone deliberately blocks or stops another person from moving in a direction where they have the legal right to go, that is called wrongful restraint under this section.

This is a lesser offence compared to wrongful confinement (Section 340 IPC).
