🧑⚖️ Admission to Practice Law
To practice law in Grenada:
Educational Requirements:Obtain a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from an accredited institution
Legal Education Certificate:Complete the Legal Education Certificate (LEC) program at the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Law in Barbados or another approved institution
Enrolment:Apply for enrolment with the General Legal Council, the regulatory body overseeing the legal profession in Grenada
Admission:Upon successful enrolment, candidates are admitted to practice law and are entered into the Roll of Attorneys-at-Law maintained by the Registrar of the Supreme Court
📄 Practicing Certificate
Under Section 24 of the Legal Profession Act, individuals must hold a valid Practicing Certificate to practice law in Grenad. The certificate is issued annually by the General Legal Council and require:
Application Submission of an application to the Counci.
Fee Payment Payment of the prescribed fee, which ranges from *EC$250 to EC$750.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Completion of 12 CPD credits per year, with each credit equivalent to one hour of attendance at an accredited legal education even.
