In October 2024, authorities in the USVI initiated a crackdown on abandoned vehicles, imposing fines of $1,000 on owners who failed to relocate their vehicles within a three-day period. This effort aimed to address the longstanding issue of abandoned cars, particularly in the Bovoni Housing Community, and to enhance the local environment's cleanliness and safety.
