Every High Court shall exercise continuous superintendence over the functioning of Magistrates' courts in its jurisdiction to ensure:
The expeditious (speedy) and
Proper disposal of cases.
✅ Meaning / Explanation:
The High Court has a responsibility to monitor and supervise all subordinate Magistrate courts under it.
It must ensure:
Cases are dealt with efficiently,
There are no unnecessary delays, and
Justice is delivered promptly and properly.
This is part of the High Court’s administrative and supervisory powers over the lower judiciary.

To maintain discipline and efficiency in the subordinate judiciary.
To ensure public confidence in the judicial system.
To prevent delays, backlog, and irregularities in the trial courts.
