Article XV of the Oklahoma Constitution sets forth the official oath of office required for all public officers in the state. It ensures that every public official pledges allegiance to the Constitution and affirms their commitment to faithfully perform their duties.
🔹 Section 1: Official Oath
All public officers, before entering upon the duties of their offices, must take and subscribe to the following oath or affirmation:
“I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm), that I will support, obey, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and the Constitution of the State of Oklahoma; and that I will not, knowingly, receive, directly or indirectly, any money or other valuable thing, for the performance or nonperformance of any act or duty pertaining to my office, other than the compensation allowed by law; I further swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully discharge my duties as [office] to the best of my ability.”
This oath must be filed in the office designated by law (e.g., Secretary of State, county clerk, etc.).

Applies to all officers, both elected and appointed, at state and local levels.
Covers legislators, executive officers, judges, county officers, and others required by law.
