This section of the Mississippi Constitution states that:

All state and county officers, before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, must take and subscribe to an oath (or affirmation) to support:

The Constitution of the United States

The Constitution of the State of Mississippi

They must also faithfully discharge the duties of their office.
