1. Republican Form of Government

Nauru is designated as an independent republic, with the Constitution asserting its status as the supreme law of the land. Any law inconsistent with the Constitution is considered void to the extent of the inconsistency. 

2. Protection of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms

The Constitution guarantees several fundamental rights, including:

Right to life

Protection from arbitrary detention

Freedom from forced labor

Right to a fair trial

Freedom of conscience, expression, and peaceful assembly

Respect for private and family life

3. Executive Branch
